It's called "Guild" Wars for something, join a pvp guild...
Or just join random/no requirement parties...

Randomway/Sway for your rank if you want it bad enough. Otherwise form with friends and run whatever. Talk to people if you happen to get into pugs and make friends, invite them to groups and chances are they'll invite you too.
Learn the bars, maps, and what you're expected to do, and you might get into a decent group. Try not to be cocky once you get your deer. Rank really doesn't mean anything. :] gl

1) Attitude
2) Effort
That's what I care about. That is what is rare. People who are looking to *get better as a player and contribute to a team* and *put forth the effort to do so* are solid gold. It doesn't even matter if they have talent. They'll inevitably get better and start working as a team. They're putting in the effort. And they beat up on everyone who doesn't.
What I got from the original post is that:
1) Your attitude is terrible
2) You are not even trying
As long as that is true, no player who has accomplished anything in this game will want to have anything to do with you. I don't care if you are the most talented person to ever grace Guild Wars. You are bad, and will continue to be bad unless you fix your approach.

In all seriousness the only time rank matters is when you are trying to Pug HA, which under no circumstance should you ever pug HA. As such rank does not matter at all.

For starters:
There is no such thing as rank discrimination. Discriminating someone means you treat them differently even tough they're similar to everyone else. (Hence, racism)
An unranked person, however, is NOT the same as a R3, R4, ..R6 player. You have no experience whatsoever, so you can't say you deserve to be put at the same level of skill as a R3+ player...
Put yourself in a R3+ caller position: Would I RISK taking this unranked guy, who I don't know, who I have never played before and who eventually might loose us the match?
Instead, wiki the maps, and form your own teams. Anet was kind enough to explain the objectives of each map in a nice pop-up box in the beginning of the match. To make it even more easy for you, Anet allows easy to play gimmicks to exist (No pun intented) so new players, such as yourself, can simply roll a character, and "pwn" off the bat.
So what I'm pretty much saying is:
Roll a R/A and form your own team. Use wiki or these forums if you have any questions about anything. Concidering the build is so easy to play, there is nearly no calling to be done, heck, you don't even need ventrilo/teamspeak.
Just pick up other unranked players, add them to friendlist, play with them again, one of them might have a higher ranked friend, or a guild you can join etc... Before you know it, you'll be settled in a PvP guild and HA'ing daily.
The only problem, and don't take offence to this, is that you have the PvE mentality. You expect everything on a silver plate, instead YOU need to take initiative. Do so, and you'll have your rank 6 in under a month...

I'M ABOUT TO DROP THE HAMMER AND DISPENSE SOME INDISCRIMINATE JUSTICE
Join a guild seriously. If you are lucky you might even find some people who are veterans and are looking to train some new people. I found someone like that and got to R4 in a teaching guild in about a month. That was 2 years ago though.
Needless to say you learn a crap ton of stuff. When you come out of a guild like that you are ready to get started. So start forum browsing and guild hopping.
Agreed with Ensign and don't take too much offense,
Your attitude is terrible and you are not even trying

Pretty much what Borat and some guy said.
If you're unranked your best bet is to find a guild that wants to start HA'ing. For instance, I saw at least 3 people recruiting g1/r3+ today. If you don't have one of those titles I'm sorry but you REALLY aren't trying, gladiator is super easy to get in RA and also gives you some decent experience with general PvP. You're not going to get much fame in a r3 guild and the guild itself probably won't last more than two weeks, but the key is to make friends. Be nice to people, recognize players who aren't dumb as a box of rocks and add them to your friends list. I know it completely flies in the face of tombs customs but you'd be AMAZED how many quality people you can get on your friends list just being nice, even at lower ranks.

Once upon a time, i joined a randomway, shortly after i got r3, playing infuse. Playing prot (amazingly we managed to get a prot monk), was a r0 guy, who was pretty good. he was added to my friends list, and after a short while, we'd won halls a few times together. He went on to get r6 a month or so later, and i quit HA forever (except for a few runs for the lols with various friends).
another time, my friend and i went to HA, and started a R good + (no really). we got good players (although this probably had something to do with the guild tag my friend has) and had a good run (till it was ended ).
My advice to you is: if you play gimmick builds (such as the R/A sway) keep in mind that this will only help you learn the maps. you should aim to improve your skills/knowledge, not your rank

It is discrimination regardless, because you treat people differently than others. It's not bad however, because you discriminate on the rank they have which is the only way (unless you know someone) to judge their experience.

Bottom line, don't bother with HA..or this game for any matter. In less than a year, GW2 will be out, probably be an epic fail, and rank doesn't matter over there..just some cheesy thing to go on your friggen hall of monuments.

Don't worry, listen, at this moment there are one build that has big popularity, the name is SWAY.
This is the build:
http://pvx.wikia.com/wiki/Build:Team_-_R/A_Sway
Just chose whatever of that builds and enter HA looking for a unranked team, or make your own, you are not alone.
Warning: some people will hate you if you play that, so try to be a little anonymous if you can. Also, this build played as a pug in a unranked team, is normally a complete disaster, anyway you will be able to farm fame the first 2 maps.
When you get some rank, r4 or more, you can leave SWAY if you want, and play another builds.

I agree, HA is a joke for a new player now, nobody in HA will try to teach you anything to help revive their dead format, it's like an clubhouse where all the members are dying off and the ladder used to get up there has rusted away.
HA sucks and there is next to no point even playing in it. Even TA/RA provides a more fulfilling experience than this now.

There has never been a time in any format where there were throngs of players eager to help new players. You have to have motivate yourself rather than whining or giving up because it's too hard. And it's not hard, there are builds for unranked players (sway / SF / RTL) that will get you some fame hitting buttons with no clue as to what's going on.

Fix'ed... It's not that people don't want to teach other people, it's that those people don't want to be thaught. They want fast easy fame so they can flash their tigers to their PvE friends, saying how good they are...

Its these same people that think that rushing blue's base at the start of a cap point means that we are ganking. Blue's base is the closest, so we go for that one first, really not everyone is going to honour battle for the center every time, especially when there are two perfectly viable bases that are completely open for the grab.

Meh all you need to do is find one more guy in the same situation as yourself. One single guy. Not hard, right? Team up with him. Now you are a party, so now others are trying to join you.

hi
as a r0 player who got to r2 and even hoh during the weekend, i can give u some advice how i did it. What i did was ask some high ranking people r9+ to carry me during the first few battles for ectos. later, when i got used to the maps, i played a spike trapper build. no prize for guessing what team build were running.
